3rd Birthday Party Spectacular!
April has been an eventful month in our house. It was very warm here, so it presented lots of opportunities to play outside (even in the water table) which the kids love to do. Easter was a lot more fun that we thought we would have. A few days before Easter, Kristi took the kids to a party hosted by her mommy group. The kids had a great time, although they weren't too interested in searching for the eggs. So I tried to prep them for actual Easter by giving them plastic eggs with a couple M&Ms inside for the few days before Easter. They quickly learned that they could shake the eggs to learn if there was treasure inside. On Easter we were invited to a neighbor's house for dinner and an egg hunt. The kids had fun playing at their house and Kristi and I had a great time interacting with adults. Corin still wasn't too interested in collecting the eggs, but he was more than willing to lead the other kids around and point out all of the eggs to them. He would point with his sword and demand that they grab the eggs ("THERE IT IS! GO GET IT!")
Kristi took the kids down to Atlanta to visit Grandma, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Nick and Kennedy for a week and they had a good time there. The kids played very well together. They shared their first experience of washing Grandma's car together. I'm not sure the car was any cleaner when they were done but they had a good time playing in the water and the bubbles. We are looking forward to going back in the summer when the pool at Grandma's is open.
On our continuing medical trauma front, when I went to the airport to pick them up, Corin fell and smacked his mouth on the ground at baggage claim. We looked and his mouth was filled with blood and he had pushed one of his front teeth back into his mouth. So we loaded up and headed to the emergency dentist. For some reason the root to that tooth was already dead, so the impact pushed his tooth loose and there was nothing for the tooth to hold onto. In the end they had to pull the tooth so he now has a premature gap in his teeth. He still looks adorable and it doesn't bother him at all but mommy is pretty broken up about it.
Corin's 3rd birthday and associated party was a great success. Pop, Lola and Dmitri came to visit and party with us. We rented a bounce house and had Corin's friends from the mommy group over to play. The bounce house came early in the morning and when I heard Corin was awake I went into his room to get him. He obviously heard the house being set up outside since his head was under his blinds and he was looking out of the window. He looked at me and said "Get outside NOW!" All of the kids (and Pop) had a great time playing in the bounce house.
