Baby you can drive my car...

Since our last update, Kristi and I completed our first “triathlon”.  There was bad weather leading up to the event, which lead to the swim being canceled due to debris in the water.  So another run was added in the beginning (run – bike – run).  Grandma came up for the weekend to watch the kids during the tri.  The event was great and both of us were very happy with our results.
Kristi worked at a local consignment sale put on by her mommy group.  Working the sale gave her early shopping privileges, which she took full advantage of.  The major score was a Power Wheels car for $30.  It is the Barbie version, so we may give it a little paint job, but you can’t beat the price.  Corin loves driving around in it, and yet again we have seen why it was good to buy a house on a cul-de-sac.
We had a great visit with Grandma while she was here.  We went into Annapolis and walked around downtown.  There was a fair for local artists, with good food and music.  The weather was cool, but the kids had fun walking around and loved watching the live musicians and listening to the music.
Yesterday we took the kids to a local petting zoo / pumpkin patch.  We had a fantastic time.  The weather was beautiful and the people (and animals) were great.  The kids got to see / pet cows, goats (including baby pigmy goats), sheep, chickens, geese, emus, turkeys, llamas, and a bull.  Corin got to feed the baby goats and chickens, take two hay rides (“TRACTOR!  TRACTOR!”), and pick out a pumpkin.  I had been gone the previous week, so it was a great welcome home gift to be able to have a fun outing with the family.
We’re looking forward to visit from Pop + Lola and Grandpa coming up in the next few weeks.
