We had a very full and fun Christmas season. I “had to” go to Hawaii
for Christmas (had to…got to…either way, you’re welcome America), so we
had some travel logistics to work out.
First, we had a pre-Christmas at our house before I left so the four of
us could have a Christmas morning together.
We weren’t sure that the kids would know what was going on, but it was
wonderful. The kids got very excited
when they came downstairs and saw all of the presents. Corin has become an expert gift opener, and
he taught Abby well.
The next morning, Kristi and the kids flew down to Atlanta to be with Aunt
Michelle and Grandma. Then I flew out to
Hawaii. Then Kristi left the kids in ATL and flew
down to Hawaii
to meet me. We were together out there
for about five days and with a work schedule in constant flux and other guys helping
me out to cover my shifts, we ended up with a lot of down time together. We had a GREAT time and got to have a lot of
fun adventures in a beautiful paradise.
Kristi then flew back to ATL on Christmas Eve and spent
actual Christmas with her family and the kids.
Then she flew home with the kids and they were there waiting for me when
I got back from my trip.
After the New Year we got a little bit of snow and Abby got
to have her first experience of playing out in it. But that is in the past now and we have had a
string of 60 degree days in Jan/Feb, so who knows what the rest of this winter
will hold for us.
